Reliable Controls Authorized Dealer, IES Automation successfully completed this retrofit project for Bishopdale School. Bishopdale School is a unique project not only to IES but in New Zealand as well because under-floor heating/cooling is still under trial, it required fine tuning to the controllers however it was successfully completed. The captivating style of the school’s exterior has a welcoming feel, but also offers immense comfort to the learners and educators. IES contributed in this new construction with electrical and mechanical equipment; also, a Reliable Controls BMS (Building Management System). The 20 wall mounted controllers provide information and monitors the C02, temperature, and humidity levels throughout the building, the client can log onto a web based BMS interface so that all changes, monitoring and servicing of the system can be carried out by operators with the appropriate security access, also control the slab temperature during cooling mode; and the air temperature during heating mode. The heating and cooling required for the underfloor system is produced from the reverse cycle heat pump/chiller. The mechanical equipment incorporated includes Main cooling/heating plant, exhaust and ceiling fans, motorised window actuators, domestic hot water system, heat pump/chiller and a mechanical services switchboard. The electrical demand from the mechanical services switchboard and heat pump/chiller is monitored and recorded.
