Overview
Reliable Controls Authorized Dealer, IES Automation successfully completed this retrofit project for Christchurch Boys High School.
Christchurch Boys High School has an iconic, heritage building towering over the school’s facilities which is significant not only to the students but to Canterbury region. IES Automation, in 2017 successfully delivered the electrical and controls for mechanical package for the new Hall. Later, in the same year we also helped complete the new Energy Centre (the heating is generated by 3 gas fired condensing boilers and distributed throughout the whole site via variable speed controlled hot water pumps). In 2019, we participated in the new construction of the Straven Decant building which included a VRF Air Conditioning System with a BACnet HLI (High Level Interface) to allow integration with our Reliable Controls MACH-system. Due to the simplicity of the Reliable Controls MACH-system graphical interface and the developed relationship with the school and their headmaster Craig Dunnett, we were able to achieve the site wired BMS contract.
Electrically we incorporated Reliable Controllers to be connected through the schools site wired network. We used 1 MACH-PROWEBSYS™ 2 MACH-PROSYS™ 2 MACH-PROVIEW™ 2 MACH-PROZONE™, this web server allows a user equipped with a PC and standard web browser to view and operate a Reliable Controls® MACH-System.
Mechanically, we installed two 4-pipe recovery AHU’s (Air Handing Unit), boiler system, a VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow), air change unit with duct heaters, and smoke exhaust and spill fans.
